Crew Interviews

The Crew Interviews are short pieces of video footage of crew talking about their experience volunteering for the RNLI. This supports Citizenship and PSHE, focusing on the role of a volunteer, and the bravery of our crew members. This is also supported within Video Corner. There will be an ongoing process of adding new footage to these sections.

Virtual Tour

The Virtual Tour takes a 360° look around a Severn Class lifeboat, and is a useful tool to support learning about the RNLI in general, but also D & T and Science, when linked to the Build a Lifeboat activity.

Dealing with Loss

Dealing with Loss addresses the tragic reality of the danger that the sea presents. The RNLI rescues 4 young people every day, but sadly there are some people who still die every year. This area directs both adults and young people towards some very helpful sites specialising in the loss of a loved one or friend, and gives some general advice.

Meet a Crew Member

Meet a Crew Member posts real crew member interviews about their experiences, and may help to answer many of the questions about the RNLI that pupils have. It serves to support Citizenship/PSHE in the same way as the Crew Interview videos.

Grace Darling

Key Stage 3 lesson plan on ICT
Key Stage 3 lesson plan on Citizenship
Key Stage 3 lesson plan on Mathematics
