Vital training at the Lifeboat College

A new crew member at an inshore lifeboat can expect to:

  • attend training at the lifeboat station every two weeks.
  • visit The Lifeboat College for a residential course.
  • use an RNLI mobile training unit at their station every 18-24 months for training on first aid, radio or seamanship.
  • as a Helm in charge of the lifeboat, they will attend an advanced lifeboat course at The Lifeboat College, learning about search and rescue and crew safety.
